PRESS
RELEASE
LifeStar Inc., a certified, non-profit medical air transportation
service, has been granted an air carrier certificate from the
Federal Aviation Administration. Humanitarian flight operations
will begin immediately.
LifeStar operates general aviation aircraft to transport medical
patients between their home and distant points of care. Flights
are conducted in a safe, reliable and prompt manner at no cost to
the patient. All operations are directed at eliminating
"transportation trauma" and improving patient quality of
life. Transportation is provided to ambulatory medical patients
and family members free of charge. Additionally, transport of
medical personnel, organs, blood and medication can be provided.
LifeStar aircraft can operate into, and out of most public use
airports. The airlines serve only 12% of public use airports.
LifeStar is based in Buffalo, NY and most flights are conducted
within 500 miles of Buffalo. This includes all of the Great Lakes
and New England states and much of the mid-Atlantic and mid-West
states. Flights are not required to originate or terminate in
Buffalo.
LifeStar is supported by grants, donations and corporate
sponsorships.
