What does this mean?

Postby SMLady » Thu Mar 13, 2008 3:32 pm

I was looking at some old posts, and I came across something that I'm not sure what it means. This and COH are the only boards I ever go to, and I don't use facebook or anything, so I'm not familiar with abbreviations, and I can't find this one on the list. It might be there, but my eyes aren't seeing it.

What does WTF mean? The only thing I can figure is Water the Fire. Anyone?

Thanks!

HA HA HA! Basically, it's what people who usually say the actual words have to use when they can't type it out in public.

LOL ... I read this earlier and laughed and then I read it again and laughed.

What is even funnier is I did the same thing when I was another chat site. Of Course.... my DD who is 23 is probably still laughing at me.

Thanks for the chuckle.. I was wondering who was going to answer the questions the nicest. I was at work when I read it the fist time. lol

Sometimes I surprise myself with the stuff that comes out of my mouth. I mean, I know these things, but they always come out wrong. i'll just blame the SM.

Yesterday my husband was talking to my son about Mt. Fuji for some unknown reason, and I said, "Maybe we should go to China and see it!" And my husband said, "Yes, because I heard they just moved it to China."

It took me a second to figure out what he was talking about. Even my 9-year-old son got it!

I'm learning, slowly but surely. Now that I know what WTF stands for, I'm surprised that something like that can be used on this message board - and in a topic heading even! I have to admit, that even after I found out what it meant, I still didn't know how - or even why - you would use it. Now I'm thinking I might get it.

So it's okay to use profanity if we abbreviate?

Here's a new one for you. I told my husband I needed an interpolator. He said, "What's an interpolator?" And I said, "You know, those peole who interpolate what you say." What I MEANT to say was interpreter.
