Hi, Rose, & Welcome to the Board. I have limited knowledge of SM, but I'll give you what I have:

No -- size doesn't matter with syrinxes. They all cause pain.
Keep looking thru the posts as they will give you a lot of information regarding this. Here is a link from the asap website about SM. This will also help.

Welcome to ASAP! GG is right - syringes of all sizes can cause symptoms galore - including pain.

my doc said the same thing......just find another one honey, cause i can tell ya , mine is only a small one and i have all kinds of problems .

where are you located ? maybe someone on here can help you find a doctor

hi rose...sorry to hear ur symptoms r acting up and ur doc isnt listening...
my advice to u would be GET A NEW DR!!...good luck to u and keep checking back here...there r lots of people on here with GREAT advice and wisdom!!!

Hi Rose,

I just want to add my welcome. My syrinx is thoracic. I bet if your doctor walked around with a syrinx for a week, no let's make it a month, he'd decide real quick a syrinx can cause pain and lots of it.

i know i have alot to learn and will here
it is wonderful that everyone shares their experiences
i can not believe the horrible things people say when someone is in pain
i have read several enteries that boggled my mind
it is nice to know that so many people are out there that care
