we all have trouble in the house chore/cooking area so does anyone have tips, tricks or easy recipes to share to help each other manage a bit better?

i did see where there had been posts on claning tips but i didn't see any on recipes, and thought maybe there were some new tips to add.

This is a really quick lunch that my kids love:

You use two tortillas or wraps. Put one on a big plate, sprinkle with grated cheese, and the cover with the other wrap or tortilla. Cover the plate with plastic wrap to seal and microwave on high for 1-2 minutes.

Uncover, cut with a pizza cutter and bingo! lunch in 3 minutes.

You can dress it up with cooked chicken, leftover taco meat and sauces of your choice.

You can also cook on a griddle or large pan, but that is more cleanup ;)

i do a little twist on the tortillia , i put a little pizza sauce on first, then cheese and add whatever else they want, and just cut it into 4's like a pizza they like it in microvave or in oven for crispy crust. it works for dinner also.

i have another one my kids like and also cook for themselves:

use a crock pot

swiss steak

cubed steak
onion sliced up
bell pepper sliced up (any color or combo)
italian tomatoe sauce ( how much depends on how much meat you have but, after it cooks down in crockpot the sauce expands)
salt and pepper if ya want
also a little dash of worchestershire

let it cook all day on low and meat will just fall apart
serve over instant rice.

Here's another crockpot recipe:

Boneless chicken breasts (usually a pack of 4)
Cream of Chicken & Herbs soup (2 cans)

Place chicken in crockpot w/soup in between. Do NOT add water (the chicken has enough). Cook 6-8 hours on low.

Serve w/mashed potatoes or rice

I use my Crock pot alot. I use a rice cooker as well. Another good one is roasting bags.

I throw what ever I have on hand into either the bag or pot. No standing by the stove stirring.......

With our budget I have cut the meat contents in half. Add more onions, potatos and carrots.

My favorite is the rice cooker. I can buy a 10lb bag of rice for the same money as Minute rice in the bags. The rice is healthier and again no standing for long periods stiring.

My favorite recipe is:

Boneless chicken thighs, Use a BBQ rub and browned on one side in a skillet. Takes maybe 3-5 minutes. In the pan is Olive oil and butter

Cooked onions, roasted red pepers, garlic, baby carrots diced and crushed pineapple.

On a cookie sheet lay out the browned chicken skin up and top with the veggies. Drizzle olive oil over the top

Bake for 20 minutes, remember these are boneless thighs and cook fast.

While this is baking I have my rice cooker going with a citrus zest added to rice for a little kick.

My family loves this and I get them to help with the chopping.

Last time at the grocery store they had on sale this type of chicken so I stock up good!

Here is one of my favs that the whole family loves

Either make your own spaghetti sauce or use a jar
make spaghetti as usual add sauce to noodles
Get a springform pan (i use the large one)

thaw out a pack of puff pastry sheets
roll out so it hangs over the sides of the springform pan (have kids or hubby help rolling out the dough)
put spaghetti in and layer with cheese
use the second puff pastry and roll out enough to cover top
use roller to take the edges off
brush egg wash on top and cover lightly(or it sticks to it) with alumium foil and cook at 400 degrees for 20 mins
uncover and cook until top is brown
looks like a spaghetti pie or cake
let sit for 5 or 10 mins
cut and serve is delicious

Enjoy
