free flights to clinic

Postby kathy_h_87120 » Sat Jun 30, 2007 3:40 pm

I don't know whether this has ever been brought up here but I've seen post where the flight times seems outrageous. I'm thinking waiting between flights is what is causing that and people who have to save up for ever to pay for a flight to a clinic when money could be better spent on treatments.
Ok here is is deal. There are several organizations in the US (sorry don't know about Canada or EU) that will fly a patient to and from doctors appointments for free. The are called "Angel flight" "pilots for
Christs" "aircare alliance" "wings of mercy" there may be others. I can't post website etc for all because a lot of it depends on where you live. However do a websearch for your area and you will be able to find one. You must be ambulatory to take these flight since they do not have doctors or nurses aboard. All flights are donated by General aviation pilots using there own planes. So if you are scared of small planes this won't work for you.

There is also this site for travel on the airlines, I've talked with them a time or two and they were very very nice. They even called back when they did not hear from me to be sure I had found travel.

For all the Canadians, they will only fly you to appointments in Canada for a visit covered under canadian health care.
