NEED NS AND NL IN ALASKA

Postby pamela d » Tue Mar 10, 2009 10:55 am

HI ,

Does anyone know of a good NS or NL in Anchorage Alaska?

For that matter, I don't even have a PCP.

I am seeing my NS in CA today for suture removal, and follow up, but am going back to Ak. on Thurs.

It is scary to think of not having anyone to follow my condition/progress. It has been a pretty rough two weeks following PFD, but some things are starting to feel better. Wondering if the killer headaches will ever go away. They are worse now, than before the surgery.

Thanks for any information you all may have.

Pamela

I would suggest Dr. Ellenboggan in Seattle

I choose not to place "DIS" in my ability.

There is a light at the end of every tunnel....just pray it's not a train!.

akbrowneyes

Yes, I still live in Anchorage Alaska.

I have not posted to the site in quite a long time, but do check it about once per month.

Sorry I did not notice your post until this evening.

I know what it it is like to feel alone with your condition(s), and when I do, I come to this site and am quickly reminded, thru the posts I read, that I am part of a bigger picture.

If you would like to speak with me personally, please send me a pm

I used Dr Kim Wright (NS) of Alaska Neurosciences, they are on Providence Campus...one of the towers of Piper. Had decompression surgery in June. My neurologist is on base, but there is another Neurology center....will post as soon as I remember who they are. I'm going to an MS meeting on Thursday, I'll ask the folks there if they have any NL they would recommend or run from.

Feel better.

AkShel,

Just wanted let you know that this is an old post of mine, that akbrowneys resurrected. It looks like she was interested in knowing if I still live in Anchorage. I did answer her post, but do not know if she has read it.

My request for a surgical referral was in 2009. I have since then found surgeon, Wouter Scheivink, M.D.. My decompression and duraplasty, along with C-1 lamincectomy, was performed a Cedar Sanai Medical Center in LA. Had it re-done 3 months later, due to a CSF leak.

Thanks for responding to my request even though it was an old one.

I hope that your recovery is going well.

Take care
