Pediatric Neurosurgeons

Postby tnajk » Fri Jan 22, 2010 6:11 pm

I know this is a topic that comes up frequently and thought this might be helpful for some people. (Including those who already have a NSG but may be looking for a 2nd opinion)

Who are the pediatric Neurosurgeons that you consider Chiari "specialists"? Name the ones that come to your head here...

Dr. Ellenbogen at Seattle Children's performed a decompression on my 3 year old on Jan. 19. He is a terrific doctor.

I've really liked him. He has great bedside manner and talked to Wiz (who'll be 9 tomorrow). Wiz's surgery is scheduled for March 9.

Dr. Fuchs at Duke Children's Hospital in Durham, NC. He put a permanent shunt in our 10 year old daughter's spinal cord to constantly drain the fluid from her syrinx. Amazing results!

My son goes to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas. His neurosurgeon is Dr. Mark Lee. His partner, Dr. Timothy George, is great too!
