I only have sm I was told that mine is a congenital defect
Jill 27 yrs old, married to the love of my life. Mother of the most beautiful girl in the world.Diagnosed with congenital SM, syrinx from C-4 to T-12. Shunt placement 9-8-09. T-7-8-9-10 laminectomy, Syrinx shrinking.

I ONLY HAVE SM -POST TRAUMATIC FROM HEAD ON CAR ACCIDENT STARTED FROM C5-C6 WHEN DIAGNOSED IN 2005 AS OF 9/09 IT IS C3-T2

I'll never know if it's idiopathic, or if its from trauma.

Scoliosis and back issues run in my family. I also fell off monkey bars and whacked my back once.... I'll never know....
- Syringomyelia, Scoliosis, Spinal Fusion, no CM
