large cisterna magna & basilar ivagination

Postby CJ1921 » Fri Oct 26, 2007 6:12 pm

My son is 13 years old. He had reconstructive neurosurgery for sagittal synostosis as an infant. He has been diagnosed with short stature and had a rathke cleft cyst removed from his pitutitary gland 10 months ago. In pre-op testing, other findings included: basilar invagination/platybasia and a large cisterna magna.

He is currently followed for his endocrine issues and has an annual follow up to make sure the rathke cleft cyst does not re-accumulate.

As of now, the basilar invagination/platybasia are stable. He gets headaches but I have no idea if they are related to any of his problems.

Any thoughts on how I can manage all this? Thank you.
